My grandmother was a Campbell (Ethel Mary Campbell 1889-1969. She was one of seven. Their Father was Albert Edward Campbell(born in Ireland) His father was Jeremiah or Joshua Campbell- he supposedly fought in the Civil War. If you think you are related let me know.

Gathering of the Clans is this guest`s favorite chatroom. This is my first time visiting this page and it is wonderful. It shows the hard work that went into making it. I enjoyed it, and thank you. Sue Ann

I am thrilled that there is a Campbell site in NY. My great great grandfather was a George Campbell and his wife was Margaret McIntosh and they came to the USA in or about 1867. We kind of lost the Scotland connections but I am `enjoying` the tons of research.

My great-grandfather was John Colin Campbell. His parents (Samuel Campbell & Jesse Troupe) emigrated from Scotland sometime in the late 1800`s. My great-grandfather was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. I am so glad to see that clan Campbell has a NYC chapter!

Unlike my first cousin, Jameson Bhaird Argyll Campbell, my name bears no hint of my Campbell, or even Scottish ancestry. My grandfather was named David Argyle Campbell and he actually had an audience with the Duke once at Inverary. (I believe this took place in the 1960s though it might have been much earlier). My mother`s name was Jean Argyle Campbell. (Both Argyle and Argyll spellings appear intermittently in my family.) I live in downtown Brooklyn.
